How do your plan to get through the looming economic crisis?
A GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISIS - that's all we need right now! - maybe even as you read this article, this thought is like a bullet going through your mind and sending a chill down your spine.
Yes, crisis can be one of the most uncomfortable situations we CAN face in life.
And you know the best part? Because, not so long ago, in 2008 you went through what was called in the political-economic circles of the time, and later in the media, a major economic crisis, right?
But what happened in 2008 and since then?
There has indeed been a big "earthquake" in the European currency and in monetary developments on European markets and beyond.
But how much has the man in the street, the man in the country, suffered because at a higher level, some things went down a bit too sharply, and many things almost simultaneously?
I, for one, simply felt nothing of the so-called "crisis" of those in charge in 2008!
Romania was only six months after joining the EU when it was announced in the media that the crisis was coming.
I did not feel any crisis.
Perhaps one of money and power, and of course the desire of some to control things or situations that are impossible to control.
All I "smelled" during the economic crisis of 2008 was a desire to arbitrarily increase inflation, and thereby increase prices, so that some colossuses in the commercial system could get rich, at almost any cost, and obviously regardless of the consequences.
How do I choose to get through the economic crisis and even get out of the crisis, maybe a bit earlier than those at the "buttons"?
Here's my plan:
- I choose not to let myself be influenced too much by what is presented on the news and in the media, and I keep my spine active,my spirit calm and as positive as possible, and of course my sense of humor on duty in the right dose.
- I de-tentense rather than panic when the crisis shows its profile through the media, news, platforms that facilitate the expression of public opinion, and sometimes even in the financial markets.
- Speaking of finances, - I have chosen to withdraw my money from bank deposits that I have held personally, and once the economic crisis begins to show its ugly face, I plan to withdraw my funds from investment platforms as well and keep them safely in foreign currency in as secure an electronic wallet as possible.
- I reduce my shopping as much as possible, while choosing shops where the prices are at a level that is bearable for me and our family, and I try as much as possible to take advantage of discounts - but without being ostentatious about it.
- We choose as a family to buy only the things we really need - without making saving an end in itself or, even sadder, a chore. Instead, we enjoy life despite what politicians often put on our backs with the policies they want, even though they have no real potential and capacity to carry them through to a successful end that is at least bearable for many. It's a long way to comfort.
- We grow the vegetables and fruit we need for food as much as possible, and this of course helps us to cope with the gaps in living standards that would impose some problems in times of crisis.
- We prepare in advance with a certain economic standard, so that the effects of the economic crisis are somewhat cushioned.
- We keep ourselves occupied with nice and positive things, and renounce politics in all its forms, while choosing as individuals and even as a family to refrain from any political commentary or commentary on the current or future economic crisis in our current conversations.
- I choose, and we choose, as a family, to increase our level of competence where it is really possible, and we increase our level of hope by appropriate self-confidence and the cultivation of the deepest spirituality in our lives, and the trust that the Divine always has things under some control, that almost everything we encounter in our lives is part of our own creation and is more always for our good, and our goal as a family and my personal goal is to go through all that comes with our heads a little higher than tears and sobs, which have their inevitable role in life, and that we become stronger and much more capable as we face and overcome such seeming hindrances with an open heart and mind to new vistas and horizons that no doubt appear in the lives of those who believe in themselves and in the One who gives them the strength to persevere in all those things that serve in life to those who know how to enjoy the opportunities that lurk behind economic hardships that are temporary.
What would be your main strategies to face the times ahead?
